Mykolas Romeris University
Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) is a state (public) university in Lithuania, coordinating various national and international initiatives. It focuses on social sciences, humanities, and interdisciplinary research under the theme Social Innovations for Global Growth. MRU has ~7000 students, including over 500 international students from 40+ countries, and ~200 doctoral students studying in education, law, management, psychology, and other fields, often in consortiums with Lithuanian partners. The university is structured into 5 faculties including Human and Social Studies, Law, Public Security, Public Governance and Business, and Sudovian Academy. Research is driven by the Social Innovations Laboratory Network (MRU LAB), which includes 15 labs and supports 7 interdisciplinary programmes in education, psychology, law, sociology, political science, etc. MRU boasts modern infrastructure, a top-rated WiFi network, excellent research facilities, and hosts over 100 academic events annually.
Internationalization is central to MRU’s strategy. The University aims to be a sustainable, green, globally engaged institution, offering international education and conducting high-level research to meet societal and market needs. It is a member of IAU, EUA, AUF, and actively participates in ASEF and other global networks. MRU cooperates with over 200 international universities and organizations. As a member of the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA), MRU works closely with partners to promote shared values in teaching, research, and institutional development. Key tools for internationalization include Erasmus+, H2020, NordPlus, COST, along with joint/double degrees and English-taught programmes.
