The International Conference Teaching as an Attractive Choice (26 March 2026, Catholic University in Ružomberok) was more than just a professional meeting. It was proof that real change in education comes about in international collaboration - in a space where different experiences, cultures and approaches come together to create something new, stronger and sustainable.
Behind this collaboration is a long-established international professional consortium, coordinated by the Faculty of Education of the Catholic University of Ružomberok. Partners from Slovakia, Latvia, Northern Macedonia, Lithuania and Slovenia are working together to create a vibrant ecosystem of innovation in education.
A place where innovation comes alive
The Erasmus+ project Creating the Network of Excellent ULCA Schools is not just a project on paper. It is a space where ideas are tested, shared and developed in practice.
And this is where the importance of the Harmony Academy and Learn & Lead Innovation partnership comes into full focus.
What Harmony brings to a project does not emerge in isolation. It comes from the innovation core of Learn & Lead Innovation - approaches, tools and philosophies that are ready for real-world use in schools:
- Learner-Centered Approach (LCA),
- Developing leadership competencies,
- Linking reflection, mentoring and growth,
- transforming schools into learning organisations.
Adoption, development, shared growth
Real power, however, is not created simply by bringing something to the table.
It arises when these approaches:
- are embraced by partners,
- adapted to different national contexts,
- and further developed in international dialogue.
Partners such as Biedrība Eurofortis (Latvia), DIG-ED (North Macedonia) or academic and school teams from Slovakia do not accept these innovations passively. On the contrary, they enrich them, push them forward and make them a common work.
And it is in this process:
- the whole consortium grows stronger,
- the trust and credibility of the solutions grows,
- and something is created that no single organisation could have created alone.
Harmony, together with Learn & Lead Innovation, is a catalyst in this process - bringing momentum, connecting and growing with others at the same time.
IAITME: the natural result of collaboration
The introduction of IAITME (International Association for Innovation and Transformation in Education) at the conference was a natural outcome of this collaboration.
IAITME did not emerge as a stand-alone initiative. It emerged from the trust, experience and joint work of partners who are already proving that transforming education is possible.
Hitting the black
The conference itself was clearly a "hit in the black".
Strong feedback from participants confirmed that:
- the professional community is ready for change,
- international cooperation brings real solutions,
- and teaching deserves a new level of support and recognition.
A rising tide in Europe
But the most important thing goes beyond the conference itself.
There is a rising wave that:
- Connecting schools across countries,
- strengthens the professional identity of teachers,
- and brings concrete tools for improving the quality of education.
What Harmony brings together with Learn & Lead Innovation is not only presented, but embraced, developed and multiplied in this international professional consortium.
And that is why today we are not just talking about a project. We are talking about a common European journey where we grow stronger together - and change the future of education.
